If less than a one was possible, that’s what I would put. No communication, terrible service, and the worst vehicle we have ever owned. The whole experience has been a disaster. Do not buy a vehicle here.

My experience started with a trade-in estimate on the KBB website. When an estimate is requested, information is sent out to local dealers. When the salesperson from Hyundai called me, I told her specifically what I was looking for, from options down to a price point. An appointment was scheduled to look at the Santa Fe and Palisade on a Saturday. When we arrived to test drive, we were met with smiles and pleasantries and shown a Santa Fe within my price point, but the Palisade was well over the price range. During the test drive I was very blunt with the salesperson that I likes the Palisade but not the package I was driving as it was over my price range and had options that not only would I not use, but did not want. After the test drive we walked through the other Palisades on the lot with the salesperson and found one I liked in the package I wanted. The salesperson let me look at the vehicle inside and out and sent me a text with the full spec sheet for the vehicle. On Monday I sent a text to the salesperson asking how to get the ball rolling to purchase the Palisade in my price range and was told to bring my current vehicle by the dealership for a trade appraisal. After spending almost an hour at the dealership for the appraisal, I was told that the vehicle I wanted was no longer available (in hindsight, it was already spoken for when I looked at it with no disclosure of that from the dealer). Because it took so long for the appraiser to look at my car, as soon as his 10 minutes with it was done I left and asked them to call me with his appraisal. In that call I was told that my vehicle, which had just been serviced by an independent mechanic and is driven 500-800 miles per week, would need "extensive engine repairs to be re-sellable" and they tried to upsell me into a vehicle that was $8000-$10000 over my price range. As if the bait and switch wasn't bad enough, the scare tactic for my vehicle was the last straw for me. I won't be back.
Phil is the epitome of dirt bag car dealers. He was rude, dismissive and had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. Run away as fast as you can.

Do not trust Joe Machens Hyundai ! I recently bought 2012 honda accord from there. They said everything was fine while I was having the deal. But within an hour of delivery time, I found the engine light on! Immediately I let them know. It looked like the code was omitted and left it for sale. At first, they said I should inspect it again from Columbia honda on my cost and let them know and they would try to resolve the matter. After inspecting they say I should be liable for fixing this. It's funny and dishonest behavior of the brand like Joe Machens. After this experience, I will never ever have any deal with Joe Machens.
Sold me a vehicle with things broken, was told they’d look at covering anything Volkswagen wouldn’t cover but now they won’t cover the cost. Very bad experience, absolutely wouldn’t shop here.
The deal I got from Machens Hyundai was far superior than the ones in the Kansas City area. I highly recommend if you live in the Kansas City area, contact Machens Hyundai 1st. I have been in the car business for 29 years, Machens was transparent, and extremely competitive to get my business. They put in the effort to make sure you're satisfied with doing business with them.
After visiting dozens of car dealers in Missouri and Illinois, I chose to do business with Machens Hyundai because I was impressed with their fair, upfront approach. I've had a top-notch experience with the sales department, management, and service department over the past several months. They take a no-nonsense, straightforward approach to selling and servicing cars, and they are experts at what they do.
They were amazing. However my car was traded from a *sister* dealership, and the Joe machens Hyundai made sure the inspection was done. It wasnt by the sister site. They made sure I got my care, free repair and a full tank of gas to get the repair within two weeks so I can register my new car. Love them. Hate their partners.

Was sold a vehicle with a bad motor. Never contacted by gm for resolution but avoided. Credit was impacted and I lost time and money as this went on for a yr with no resolve. Had to trade broken vehicle and take a loss. HORRIBLE customer service from the GM. BUYERS BEWARE!
I wanted an new 2020 Elantra GT N-line in blue and located about 20 in the entire U.S. This dealership's advertised price was already the lowest. I talked to Jeff McLaughlin and asked him for the best price, no haggling, as I was going to call many dealers. He gave me a price that was even better than advertised. When I told him I lived in Florida, he said he was experienced with out-of-state sales. I started calling all the other dealerships with this car and strangely, many of the salesmen were reluctant to deal with me once they found out I didn't live nearby. Those that were willing to talk still couldn't match the price I got. Once I agreed to the purchase, I was sent a Fedex package with all the forms to be filled that was then overnighted back. My loan was approved and I picked a shipping company and they coordinated with Jeff when they would pick up the car. The car was delivered a week later with no problems.
700 dollars that sounds fair. Actually get my loan back from the bank 3,400. Shady people told me I bought two plans. Worst part is he made it sound like the deal was so great because I was a veteran. Thanks you for your military service then they pick your pocket.
I just bought the car I really wanted st a price I can really afford! The staff was amazing. They were friendly and they were fast. I never dreamed I could walk in there and have my car bought and ready to go and still make it to work on time but they did just that. Big shout out to Joe Kelley, he made it smooth and quick!
I found the car I was looking for on Auto trader. I live in Chicago. I called the dealership, they put me in contact with Timothy Wilson. His friendly demeanor and great follow up from every touch point made me feel confident in doing business with him and Joe Machens Hyundai – Sales. I drove down 3/8, 385 miles, bought the car and drove it home. Tim is still assisting me with a “positive can-do approach” ! I would highly recommend Timothy Wilson. His General sales manager Hoss Devine also provided great customer service.

Tyler, service advisor, is professional and cares about his customers. One embarrassing concern is apparently the TV in the waiting lounge has been out for months with no plans to repair it????? Also, the "automotive" TV/computer in the lounge has been trying to "download" for over a month. Not very impressive for customers.
